The Modular Design Process
The development lifecycle adopted by Bluewater Systems is applied across all projects including modular design. Depending on project requirements, steps in the cycle may be removed or added. The knowledge gained on other projects is key to the design and specification phase. This ensures that every project benefits from the experience of Bluewater’s engineering team. Clear and professional project management is then used to inform customers of project progress and milestone deliverables with ‘on-line’ access to project planning and time allocation.
PRODUCT SPECIFICATION AND FEASIBILITY
Full project feasibility and product specification reports are completed as standard, allowing you to see how your concept can be turned into reality. The experience gained from other design projects is key to producing these documents.
FIRMWARE DEVELOPMENT AND INTERFACING
The use of FPGA technology (programmable hardware) enables Bluewater to design in specific customer functionality quickly and cost effectively, whilst allowing you to use a common architecture across multiple products.
NEW AND EXISTING HARDWARE DESIGN
New products almost always require hardware design. Specific tasks include circuit design and specification, schematic entry, PCB layout and placement, PCB checking and manufacture optimisation.
SOFTWARE OS AND DRIVERS
Typically, embedded electronic products will require an Operating System such as Linux or WinCE. Often, custom drivers are needed to match the hardware used in a design and provide the basis for application-specific software.
